Die Cuttin' Diva's

We have a fun recipe challenge for you this week over at Die Cuttin' Diva's!
Feathers, Fabric and/or Flowers

I found the background fabric at Joann's and decided to find a die cut that went with it. The Florals Embellished Cricut Cartridge had this die cut that matches pretty well with the fabric. I used Fun Fur yarn because is reminded me of a feather boa and the flowers are rhinestones I found in the clearance bin at Michael's. I purposely did not put a sentiment on this card beacuse I haven't decided what to use it for.

Head on over to the DCD blog and show us your recipe card/project. Don't forget to tell us which die cut you used.

Thanks for stopping by.

Critter Sketch Challenge Blog

Over at the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog they have an "anything but a card" challenge this week.
My friend let me borrow the bride quartet series by Nora Roberts. So as a thank you I made her this corner bookmark. Great books, check them out if you like romance novels!
The flowers are the new recollections bottle flowers. I used Kraft and cream cardstock and DP is from Michael's. The stamp is from Inkadinkado. The rhinestones are from the dollar bin at Michael's. I also used my Martha Stewart punch for the layers.

Challenges I am also entering this into:
Try it on Tuesday: Monochrome
Stamp With Fun: Autumn/Fall

My Blogoversary is here! DAY 1

Welcome to my First Blogoversary blog hop.
The theme for this blog hop is "Firsts" (ex: 1st birthday, 1st Anniversary, Baby's 1st steps, etc) but I also wanted the hoppers to try a technique or project for the first time. Many talented crafters are hopping along with me today. Make sure you visit each and every one of them and leave them some comment love. I think you will enjoy everything that they have cre8ted. This hop will be for three days. Most of the ladies have made three projects so don't forget to come back each day. (August 5th-7th)

Here is the line up:

 ***** Emma    www.creativetimeforme.blogspot.com  *****

Now on to my card. My Niece/God-daughter turned one this past weekend. So what a perfect opportunity to cre8te a card for my blog hop.

I had just received my Wild Card Cricut Cartridge in the mail and knew I wanted to use it for the blog hop. This card is the first card I made using the Wild Card cart.

I wanted to add a shadow on the inside of the card so I used a slightly smaller cut of the same cupcake.

There is blog candy to be shared. (picture coming later today, working 13 hour days is putting me behind just a little) Please leave me a comment (along with your email) and if you want follow my blog. I will draw a winner on Monday morning. Thanks for hopping along with me.
Your next stop is Georgiana www.carsonscricutcreations.blogspot.com

Vintage Love card!

I have never been one for the vintage look but I recently made a paper bag album with the vintage theme so I thought I would try a card too.
I am entering this card in to OWH midweek throwdown challenge... LOVE YOU!

The paper is from the Old World stack, the flowers are from a wedding kit, I used a regular heart doillie that I aged with black and sepia ink and the embellishment is a sticker that I have had forever. Oh, the pearls my sister gave me and the rhinestones are from Michael's.

Thank You Team Mom

The softball season ends on Saturday. My husband is the coach of our niece's team and asked me to make a thank you card for the team mom. I had a two new stamp sets that I thought would be perfect for this card. This is how it turned out:
Lately I have also been decorating the inside of my cards. I love how they turn out. It's unexpected and adds something special to the card.

Monochromatic Card

I am finally getting around to making some cards for last weeks challenges. Both OWH and SSC CAS challenge had the theme of a Monochromatic challenge. I decided to make a card for my sister and her husband for their anniversary. Since my sister is a follower of my blog and DT of the CAS challenge blog on SSC she will probably see this card before I am able to give it to her for her anniversary. So "Happy Anniversary" and have a blast in Hawaii this week. JEALOUS!

I love decorating the inside and back of my cards. and since I am not mailing this card I was able to embellish it with lots of flowers and a bow.

Divas by Design DT call!

Divas by Design are looking for 5 DT's:
"We are also looking for 5 new DT members! We will be split into 2 teams so you will need to be able to produce a piece of work once every 4 wks with the possibility of working with sponsor images on occasion. You will also need to comment on challenge entries according to a set quota."

I would love to be a part of this design team. I have been crafting since I was very young. My grandmother taught me how to crochet, paint, draw, and sew. I have a great husband who doesn't mind my obsession with all things crafty and even gave me the guestroom as my craft room. I love making cards and refuse to buy $5 "Hallmark" or any other brand cards.

Here are the three projects that are my favourite:

This was an easle card I made for my friend's birthday.

I love to try new folds and techniques. The digi is Meljen's so is the sentiment.

The scrapbook layout was a project that I did for my first blog hop. The group consisted of people from around the world so we decided to make it a traditions/culture theme.

Here are a couple of close ups of the embellishments I made.

Thank you for the opportunity to be on your design team. I would love to be a part of it.

<3 Yvette

CAS Challenge

Over at Simply Scrapping Crafts they are hosting a Clean and Simple Challenge. You must use a patterned paper for your background and keep it simple. Here are my entries:

I was going for a girly themed thinking of you card and a boyish thinkoing of you card. Each has similar elements to the card like the bow and the strip of paper on the side but I wanted to showcase the colors and pattern of the designer paper.

Last night I sat with a few different paper stacks trying to get inspired. I kept stopping at the brown designer paper. My mission was to make brown girly and pretty. Let me know if I accomplished what I set out to do.
