Happy Birthday!

Earlier I posted a wedding card for a client of my husband. Well it happens to be her birthday as well. So, not knowing what she likes or her favorite colors I decided to make her this card.

I used paper from DCWV's The Glitter Sweet Stack, the stamps are from Hero Arts and Hampton Art, and the ribbon and rhinestones are dollar finds from Michael's. I used my Bow-Easy to make the bow.
I hope she likes it, I do!

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:

Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenge!

Wow, another great week of cards at Die Cuttin' Diva's!
This week we were challenged to make a shape card.
Here is my cre8tion:
I loaded my Pagoda cartridge onto my Gypsy and took two shadows of the Kimono and welded them together to create this card. I had to flip the back side of the kimono so that when folded the sides would line up perfectly. I used black brads for the center of the flowers and Glossy Accents to make the flowers pop.

On the inside of the card I used two stamps from my Inkadinkado set.
Head on over to the DCD blog and enter your shape cards for this week's challenge.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenge!

Planes, trains, and automobiles..... was the theme for this weeks Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenge.
My brother's birthday was June 15th and I made this card for him.
I used the Summer vacation solutions cartridge for the car, street sign, and surfboard. The stamp on the front of the card is a dollar find from Michael's. So is the Happy Birthday stamp on the inside of the card. The numbers are from a calendar set from Inkadinkado. I used my Cuttlebug for the blue background piece.
My Brother had just returned home from Triple bypass surgery the day before his birthday. Yup! He's only 42 years old and the best birthday present is that he is here to celebrate with us.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to enter this week's challenge!

If you can never find the right sentiment to go with your cards head on over to Emma's Blog My Creative Time and look at her stamp sets. They are perfect for any occasion. She has a sneek peak going on this week as she prepares to reveal her 7th edition of stamps. I was lucky enough to win four of her stamp sets about a month ago and LOVE them!!!

Here is a card I made with her This & That stamp set:

Here is a close up of the heart. I used glossy accents on it.

Now go and visit Emma. She has a great sneek peak for you!

Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenge!

For this week's challenge we were asked to take a Christmas die and use it for a non christmas card.
I grabbed my Joys of the Season cartridge and started flipping through it. These trees caught my eye.
Here is a close up of the background paper and die cuts:

I love the layers. And when you put three of anything on a card it looks great!
Now go and get your christmas carts out, head on over to Die Cuttin' Diva's, and get cre8tive!!!

'All Jacked Up in June’ Blog Hop

If you arrived here from Rebecca ~ http://www.craftingmisfit.blogspot.com/ then you are in the right "Jacked up" place. If you get lost along the way, please visit http://www.shortnscrappy.com/ for the complete lineup.

We were asked to make an altered item with a Cocktail theme. As soon as I heard the theme of this hop I knew exactly what I wanted to create; A Martini recipe book!

(Make sure you read all of the way through my post, there is blog candy ahead!)

I purchased these index cards at Wal-mart, and turned it into this:

I used the "All Jacked Up in June" blinkie for my color inspiration.

For each of the tab dividers I chose words that are found in martini recipes.

Included in the recipe book are 44 martini recipes that I found on the internet.
Fruity, Chocolate, Food Network Chefs, and Other martinis.

This recipe book is my blog candy for this blog hop. All you have to do is become a follower (or already follow) and leave a comment. Please include an e-mail address or some way to contact you if you win.

This is the last stop on Patti's Blog hop so Thanks for hopping.
Don't forget to check back to see who wins my blog candy.

Wedding Bells are Ringing!

Today we are attending a wedding. This is the card I made for the Bride and groom.
I usually don't make 9"x4.5" cards but I love how this turned out.

I also decorated the inside of the card.

Graduation Time!

It's that time of year again. Graduations are upon us! My Creative Time's Emma challenged us to create a card using the Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge and the color blue. I immediately thought of my Best friend, Suzanne. She is graduating with a masters from UCLA this June. Here is her card:
I decided to use the backpack from the Doodlecharms cart. I added the UCLA using the Base Camp cart. The binder paper was made using colored pencils and the stamps are from the "Mom you ROCK" set from Emma at My Creative Time. I lucked out that UCLA's school colors are BLUE and yellow in order to meet the color requirement for Emma's challenge. I had a great time making the paper rosette ribbon. I think it adds balance to the card.
My Best friend will see this card before she receives it because she follows my blog. I hope she likes it and will "act" surprised when she opens it in a few weeks. Congrats to all of her hard work. It has been a tough road but one well paved. Great job Suzanne!

Fairy cards

Here are a few cards I made using my new InkaDinkaDoo Fairy stamps.
I created this card for my SIL's birthday. The sentiments were made using word.

My sister inspired me to use speciality yarn on my card.

I am entering these into 365 Cards Day 65 challenge, and Divas by Design 1st Challenge.
