Die Cuttin Diva's Challenge

This week at DCD we have a National Reptile Day Challenge for you.
I was really excited for this challenge because I was able to use my new Cricut cartridge: Dinosaur Tracks. I showed my husband the booklet and he picked out the dinosaurs he wanted me to use.
I hope you get into the spirit of National Reptile Day and enter our challenge. Head on over to Die Cuttin Diva's and link up.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

Another Baby on the way!

No, I am not expecting, but my husband's co-worker is!
This is the card and blanket I made for her.
Since the mom to be hasn't found out what she is having I decided to use both stamps.
I was going for a vintage look but I really don't have the right supplies for that theme.

I had started this blanket last Friday but realized on Sunday night that the pattern had a flaw.
So at 9pm Sunday night I started over and here is what I was able to produce.
(most of it was done while I was working). :)

The yarn is TLC ultra soft in neutral.
The shower is today. I hope she enjoys the blanket.

Thanks for visiting! -Yvette

Celebrate The Occasion!

I have some exciting news to share with all of you today: I was selected to be on the design team over at Celebrate the Occasion!!! The best part of this news is that my sister was also chosen to be on the design team. I know we are going to have a great time making cards for CTO.

This is the birthday card that I made for the DT call.

I used the herringbone embossing folder from Cuttlebug, my paper doll dress up cartridge from Cricut, the face stamp is from My pink stamper, and the sentiment is from Stampin' up.

for the inside of the card I used stamps from Inkadinkado and Hero arts.
I made this card for my sister-in-laws father, "Papa Ken".
Thanks for visiting. -Yvette

Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenge!

Planes, trains, and automobiles..... was the theme for this weeks Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenge.
My brother's birthday was June 15th and I made this card for him.
I used the Summer vacation solutions cartridge for the car, street sign, and surfboard. The stamp on the front of the card is a dollar find from Michael's. So is the Happy Birthday stamp on the inside of the card. The numbers are from a calendar set from Inkadinkado. I used my Cuttlebug for the blue background piece.
My Brother had just returned home from Triple bypass surgery the day before his birthday. Yup! He's only 42 years old and the best birthday present is that he is here to celebrate with us.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to enter this week's challenge!

The Sweetest Thing Sketch Challenge

Ok So this will be the last post for today. I told you I had a lot of craft time this weekend. Especially for sketch challenges. Here is another great one from The Sweetest Thing - Sweet Sunday Sketch.

I totally forget where I got this Digital image and sentiment but I love How the card turned out. I used the embossing folder "mosaic" to replicate the brick of a fire house.
Thanks for checking out my blog!

Die Cuttin Diva's May 24th Challenge

Hi All! It's Tuesday and time for another Die Cuttin Diva challenge.
This week we were challenged to make a "celebrations" card. I used my Sweet Treats cartridge to cut out the card shape and added the layers using the other features of the same cart. Here it is:

My nephew is turning 3 this Friday so I made this card for him.
I was inspired from last week's masculine card challenge.
Thanks for visiting and I look forward to seeing your project for this week's challenge.

Divas by Design DT call!

Divas by Design are looking for 5 DT's:
"We are also looking for 5 new DT members! We will be split into 2 teams so you will need to be able to produce a piece of work once every 4 wks with the possibility of working with sponsor images on occasion. You will also need to comment on challenge entries according to a set quota."

I would love to be a part of this design team. I have been crafting since I was very young. My grandmother taught me how to crochet, paint, draw, and sew. I have a great husband who doesn't mind my obsession with all things crafty and even gave me the guestroom as my craft room. I love making cards and refuse to buy $5 "Hallmark" or any other brand cards.

Here are the three projects that are my favourite:

This was an easle card I made for my friend's birthday.

I love to try new folds and techniques. The digi is Meljen's so is the sentiment.

The scrapbook layout was a project that I did for my first blog hop. The group consisted of people from around the world so we decided to make it a traditions/culture theme.

Here are a couple of close ups of the embellishments I made.

Thank you for the opportunity to be on your design team. I would love to be a part of it.

<3 Yvette
