Sketch N Stash

Sketch N Stash Challenge #54
Click HERE to see their website.
here is this weeks (2) Challenge:
This is my take on the sketch:
The background stripes are from an old 8x8 paper pack, the Heart charm is left over from my In-Laws 40th Wedding Anniversary Vow Renewal Invitations, the embossed white paper is a new technique (I used my sister's new cuttlebug machine she got for Christmas), the "Love" stamp is TPC, and the Digi is MelJen's.

I just found this blog and have instantly become a fan. Last week I made over 35 cards using up my scraps. I hope to make a lot more with the scraps I still have.

Scrappily Ever After

The Scrappily Ever After blog posted a birthday challenge. See it HERE.The inspiration was a photograph:
and this is what I was inspired to make:
Such a fun challenge.
I am especially in the birthday mood since my birthday is this week as well. :D

Sweet Stampin' Challenge Sketch

This is the sketch I followed. Check it out.

Saturday Seminar at OWH

Yesterday on the Stars & Stamps blog was the first Saturday Seminar. I really enjoyed reading all of the tips and advice giving to us by Paula. I am going to participart in the seminar but I made a card this morning utilizing the tips giving in the seminar. (I don't know why my black ink looks blue)

Organization is Key!

Over the holiday season my craft room became the dumping ground for all sorts of things.
I decided to start organizing it.
Such a mess! I cleared out the room and went shopping at Ikea.
My husband took on the task of building all of the shelving units.

They turned out excellent.

Now remember this is a work in progress, but this is what my craft room looks like today:
Now it's time to make it look "pretty"!

Happy Birthday!

I was looking through all of the free digital stamps that I have acquired, over the last six months, and was inspired by two that I found from Dustin Pike.
I thought that if I layered these images it would make a great scene for my next card.
So I took out my colored pencils and got to work.

I stamped the standard with Hero Arts "Happy Birthday" stamp and the shield with a star that is either TPC Studio or Hampton Art. I can't remember which. With the help of some foam adhesive squares I assembled the card. This is how it turned out:

Thank you Dustin Pike for your inspirational Digital art!!!

Midweek Throwdown

This week for OWH's Midweek Throwdown we were asked to make: Cards 4 kids.
I decided to used Elizabeth O. Dulemba Free Robot Digi.
The "Thinking of you" stamp is from Hero arts.

I just wish my flash wouldn't dull the colors of my cards.
Any tips would be appreciated.

More New Cards

I am loving that I have more time to make cards for OWH these days.

Hello cards

I decided to create a couple more cards. They were inspired by Ann K from OWH's Friday featured cardmaker from last week

Featured Cardmaker

I really liked all of the cards made by Ann K. Who is this week's Featured cardmaker on OWH.
I CASE'd one of her cards, and here it is:

Double Display Card

My sister shared a blog post with me that gave a tutorial for making the double display card. This site is Sweet as a gumdrop: http://sweetasagumdrop.blogspot.com/2010/02/birthday-card-template.html#comment-form
click on the link above.
Here is my version of the card:

I have entered this card in My pink stamper's birthday challenge.

I wanted to make another card using this fold technique so I made my In-laws an Anniversary card.

S & S Sketch Challenge #53

Operation write home has another great sketch for us to try:

I choose to use Pink, Black and White. The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

Swedish Birthday Card!

My friend's birthday is coming up and since she is Swedish I thought it would be fun to make a birthday card in Swedish. Hopefully the translation is correct.

The cover says "Happy Birthday" in Swedish.

The inside message says "I wish you a day full of surprises"

S & S Sketch Challenge #47

Hello, My name is Yvette (Cre8tiveVet). I live in beautiful Southern California with my amazing husband. I having been making cards for about 6 months. I was thrilled when I received an e-mail from Julie with a S&S  sketch to work on. Here it is:

The first card I made is for OWH's January 7th Valentine deadline. I was inspired by the dice and recreated the look using red cardstock and brads.

The second card I made is for my friend, Tammy. I wanted to give a completely different look but use the same sktech. I added a patterned background paper, the butterfly image, and distressed the pink cardstock.

So whatever theme you are making a card for, this sketch is great! I know I'll be using it again.

Birthday Cards

I wanted to make my step-daughter a birthday card and when I saw the spinner tutorial I was inspired. I followed the directions on OWH's stars and stamps blog and with a trial or two finally got it right. I then did a pop-up on the inside. I had a lot of fun with this challenge. I will definitely be using this technique again.

Valentine's

SPECIAL MISSION! Due Dec 1!
Go check out our partnership with Archway cookies - and help us meet the challenge!
Special Mission!!!

SPECIAL MISSION! Due Dec 1!

Archway Cookies loves heroes like we do. And they want to partner with OWH to get some sweets out to our service members for the holidays....as well as generate LOTS of valentines for them to write home on!

HOW THIS MISSION WORKS

1.Make your best valentines. We need 4,000 valentines for this mission, but we have lots of you to do it - so take your time, use quality supplies, and pour tons of love into them! Remember that this card will carry home tons of love from a hero so far from home, so it needs to be a beautiful, sturdy, and loving creation! Be sure to stamp/label the back with "Operation Write Home", use no glitter, and make them A2 sized cards. More guidelines are here.

2.Send your valentines to one of our shippers by Dec 1st. (You may also send other card themes!) Be sure to include a packing slip, and write ARCHWAY on it!

3.Archway Cookies matches us sweets for sweets - they'll send cases and cases to our OWH contacts to enjoy for the Christmas holidays!

We need to act fast to get all this done and shipped to our heroes in time for Christmas celebrations in Iraq and Afghanistan and other locations, so join in and help us achieve our special mission!!

Leave some love for Archway in comments on this post...let them know what you think of their generous gift to our heroes!!

Christmas kits

I decided to create some cards kits. That way when I have a few hours during the week I can get some Christmas cards finished. I ended up having a lot of fun and this is how they turned out.

These are the kits that I am currently working on. This is a great way to get some work done while watching TV or for those last night sessions. Everything is ready to go and no hassel with design or cutting things out.
