Die Cuttin Diva's May 24th Challenge

Hi All! It's Tuesday and time for another Die Cuttin Diva challenge.
This week we were challenged to make a "celebrations" card. I used my Sweet Treats cartridge to cut out the card shape and added the layers using the other features of the same cart. Here it is:

My nephew is turning 3 this Friday so I made this card for him.
I was inspired from last week's masculine card challenge.
Thanks for visiting and I look forward to seeing your project for this week's challenge.

Wedding Bells are Ringing!

Today we are attending a wedding. This is the card I made for the Bride and groom.
I usually don't make 9"x4.5" cards but I love how this turned out.

I also decorated the inside of the card.

Graduation Time!

We have another Graduate in the Family!
My best friend's brother is getting his masters from Cal State Fullerton.
This is the card I made for him:
The "banner" was a rosette that I got cre8tive with.
I layered the blue to make it look like a window swag. I really like how it turned out.

I used one of the stickers that came on his announcement to embellish the front of the card.

I am inspired to try this banner/swag technique for a 4th of July themed card.
I think the red, white and blue will be prefect. I'll add that to my project list. :)
Thanks for visiting! -Yvette

Die Cuttin Divas

Hello everyone! I am so excited to announce that I am a new member of the Design Team over at Die Cuttin' Diva's. This weeks challenge was to make a Masculine card. I immediately thought of my husband's Harley.

I used my "Going Places" cart for the motorcycle and "Indie Art" cart for the flames.
The stamp is from Inkadinado.

I am so excited to be a part of the DT. I look forward to all of your projects!

Graduation Time!

It's that time of year again. Graduations are upon us! My Creative Time's Emma challenged us to create a card using the Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge and the color blue. I immediately thought of my Best friend, Suzanne. She is graduating with a masters from UCLA this June. Here is her card:
I decided to use the backpack from the Doodlecharms cart. I added the UCLA using the Base Camp cart. The binder paper was made using colored pencils and the stamps are from the "Mom you ROCK" set from Emma at My Creative Time. I lucked out that UCLA's school colors are BLUE and yellow in order to meet the color requirement for Emma's challenge. I had a great time making the paper rosette ribbon. I think it adds balance to the card.
My Best friend will see this card before she receives it because she follows my blog. I hope she likes it and will "act" surprised when she opens it in a few weeks. Congrats to all of her hard work. It has been a tough road but one well paved. Great job Suzanne!

Fairy cards

Here are a few cards I made using my new InkaDinkaDoo Fairy stamps.
I created this card for my SIL's birthday. The sentiments were made using word.

My sister inspired me to use speciality yarn on my card.

I am entering these into 365 Cards Day 65 challenge, and Divas by Design 1st Challenge.

Race for a Cure!

Today was a very special day for my friends and I. We walked in the Revlon Run/Walk for Breast cancer research for the 10th year in a row.
Start line and Hallie Berry.

My Best friend and I.

On the left is the sign I wore on my back. Every year I walk for my 2 moms. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was pregnant with my twin sister and I. She fought hard but lost her battle 28 years ago when we were 7 years old. My best friend's mom has "adopted" us as her daughters and was also diagnosed with breast cancer 10 years ago. We walk for her as well.

When I got home I was surprised to find My Creative Time's "Race for a Cure" stamp set in my mail box. My dear twin sister knew I really wanted the set and bought it for me.

Even though I have been up since 4am I had to make a card using this wonderful stamp set!
(it's almost midnight)

Thank you Yvonne! and Emma, from My Creative Time!
I can't wait to scrapbook this year's event and add it to my Run/walk album.

Happy Birthday!

Here is another fun fold for a birthday card.

Save the Date Books

I was inspired to make these books when I participated in a blog hop with Simply Scrapping Crafts. One of the hoppers, Cindy, Made "Birthday Books" I decided to change the name to "Save the Date book" since anniversaries and other special dates can be logged in the books.

I used my binding machine and cut down the coils to fit the books. I also kept the pattern on the outside of the pocket pages so the paper stands out. This makes the month card stand out. I had so much fun making these that I think I need to make some more.
I am entering these books in the Divas by Design first challenge.

Softball team gifts

This past weekend was the end of My husband's duty as coach of our niece's 6 and under softball team. I wanted to make something for each of the girls on his team.
I bought these frames from Michael's for a dollar each and painted them their team color. I designed and cut everything out using my Gypsy and Cricut.
I also made three more for the assistant coaches and the team mom.
I hope you enjoy them.

Thank You Team Mom

The softball season ends on Saturday. My husband is the coach of our niece's team and asked me to make a thank you card for the team mom. I had a two new stamp sets that I thought would be perfect for this card. This is how it turned out:
Lately I have also been decorating the inside of my cards. I love how they turn out. It's unexpected and adds something special to the card.

SSC Blog Hop

Simply Scrapping Crafts is having their first monthly blog hop of 2011. The theme was Seasons and it is currently Spring here on Southern California. I decided to use the Easter baskets that I make for my family.
We have 10 nieces and nephews under the age of 9 so I made some of them a small Easter basket this year. Four of them live up in Northern California so I didn't make their baskets this year.

Each basket has their name, a rabbit that I made with my create a critter cart and cricut machine, and a side detail of flowers with my martha fence punch.

These are the bigger baskets that I made for my In-Laws and other family members.
My step-daughter saw the baskets that I was making for easter so I decided to make her one that matches her room. This way she can have it out all year long.

These baskets are so easy to make that I have made them for birthdays, Christmas, and many other holidays.
Thanks for stopping by on the blog hop. Click here if you want to continue hopping http://www.inlinkz.com/wpview.php?id=49302

Monochromatic Card

I am finally getting around to making some cards for last weeks challenges. Both OWH and SSC CAS challenge had the theme of a Monochromatic challenge. I decided to make a card for my sister and her husband for their anniversary. Since my sister is a follower of my blog and DT of the CAS challenge blog on SSC she will probably see this card before I am able to give it to her for her anniversary. So "Happy Anniversary" and have a blast in Hawaii this week. JEALOUS!

I love decorating the inside and back of my cards. and since I am not mailing this card I was able to embellish it with lots of flowers and a bow.
